I've resolved  my art dilemma. Recently, I've been having trouble in my sculpture class. I decided to choke up the courage to ask my professor if I could paint instead. He agreed to it, and immediately I got to work on painting. I felt much happier being able to paint. Really, that's all I needed, to paint instead of sculpting. I'm not  much of a sculptor, but I still have the option of doing so, of course. This was actually a big deal, and gave me anxiety issues. I talked to Strem about it, and she helped me a ton.

I'll have some new art up shortly. Been working on some projects.

However, so that this is not such an empty entry, I will hand over a useful website. This is a good resource for drawing faces and figures. http://www.fineart.sk/

008

This entry is late because the internet's been so awful here that I can't even keep it working long enough to upload my pics. I could always move my laptop to the main school building, I suppose. If the 'net starts acting up again, I'll do that.

First, some Valentine's Day junk.

The second drawing because I really like the outfit. I'd like to dress more figures up similarly.

This is a simple-something to celebrate the year of the rabbit. Yessir, this year's zodiac is the year of the rabbit. I'm an animal-lover, so I hold my favorite animals pretty high in importance. I draw them a ton. 1. sheep, 2. birds, 3. rabbits.

Lastly, a watercolor junk. I wanted to play around with my cheap watercolor set, so I did a little bit and ended up with this. Again, nothing special.

So, then, news. I've decided that I really WANT to make a comic. That's truly what I want to do. However, I can't keep focused on a single project for several reasons. So I'm doodling out thumbnails and practicing, just having fun with it and trying out new things. I'll come out with something serious-ish soon.

I'm designing T-shirts for art club, health club, and green club. Already have several ideas. The art club is the most difficult one to figure out. I'd like to try a black-and-white asymmetrical design, very intricate and detailed.

That's all, folks. Excitingness.

Gawd, the internet is terrrrible here... Well, anyway. Today is Man Day, so here is a doodle of a man. To all males out there, shield your eyes, it will be over with quickly.

This beer makes me even manlier.
So, yeah. I'm sure there's a "woman day" coming up soon. I believe that for every naked woman, there should be a naked man, and vice versa. Fair is fair. Uhh, yes, off that topic.

Couple of kinda-old comics for "My Alien Uncle." I can't seem to go through with making comics and keeping to the series... I'm so scatter-brained. One second I'm all, I WANT TO MAKE A SILENT HILL COMIC, the next I'm all, I want to do something fun instead! Then even that changes and I say, I want to make comic shorts of my characters' origins stories!! Comic-making is kind of a dedicated process, but I can't dedicate myself to even working on these projects. (Sigh.) I need something. I don't know what, but I need something to make me get serious and make me work hard on this stuff.

sketch sheep 006

I lied earlier about that being my last post full of old art. This post here will be the last and very last. I separated the posts because the last one was getting far too large. I'm eating this Pop-Tart right now, and it is amazingly delicious (I'm a fan of sweet, strawberry-flavored things). This kind is called Strawberry Milkshake. Have I ever told anyone that I enjoy drawing food? Well, I do. I should focus on making a small series of drawings based off of photos of food.

Anyway, first here are some ceramic and 3-D works.

Props to Picasso.
This is a kitsune mask, a Japanese mask of a fox.
I need a better photo, but this is my favorite ceramic from the class.

Now here are a few pictures I did specifically for my family. I have  made more art for them than this, but this all I have on-hand right now.

For a cousin.
For an in-law.
For my uncle.

Okay. Last of all, some shots of a very small Fukuro figure I did. "Fukuro" is actually the name of a short film from Silent Hill. Since I'm a fan of Silent Hill, I worked very hard on this figure--the materials were cheap and child-like, so the results are more impressive regarding that. Here is a link to the video Fukuro. (Warning: It is very adult and uses Freudian psychology.)

And that's all the old stuff I have on my flashdrive. Now the real fun can begin--my full use of this site as an art blog.

sketch sheep 005

Hello, everyone. It's snowing again, and after that dreadful snowstorm on Tuesday, the sight, even the thought of snow terrifies me just a tad. Well, I have my last dump of old art here, and after this I should be free to post my new stuff. By "new stuff," not all of it--in fact, very little of it--will consist of finished projects. Most of my uploads here on SketchSheep will be sketches. Hence the "sketch" in SketchSheep. (The "sheep" in SketchSheep comes from my initials, RAM, which I have always been proud of and use as my signature.)

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day, and the day after that is Man Day, so I have some lovey-dovey art treats for you later. For now, here's my RAM exercises in college.

Here are some sketch exercises in college. The first one, done in blue marker, is actually done by not looking at the drawing at all, and instead only looking at the subject. This technique is called blind contour, and is used to train your hand and also to train you to really "see" the subject.
Blind contour. I, myself, am EXTREMELY amazed at the job I did.

Now a few other college works. Nothing I'm particularly impressed with, but my professor was pleased.

This is the nude model sketch. My first REAL nude, ever.
Oh, it's Pyramidhead. I forgot about him.
